Black Layers

April 26, 2015

Jacket: Blu Kanvas (similar), Top: Banana Republic, Pants: J. Crew (30% off now!), Heels: French Connection, Purse: Ralph Lauren

Happy Sunday! Here's quick look at this weekends look. We've had cooler weather these past couple of days in the tri-state. The weather obviously can't make up its mine so I had to bring out my favorite leather jacket, again. As per usual I was headed to brunch and decided to step out in all black. Under my jacket I wore this great black and white top from BR. I'm loving their modern look thanks to creative director, Marissa Webb. The new BR is really stepping up their game with their new look. I also wore these jcrew Minnie pants which I live in! I love these!!! For years I've heard women rave about them and couldn't understand what the big deal was. Now I understand. They have the perfect amount of stretch without being a full on legging. You can dress them up or down with either a blazer or a plain tee and you're good to go and right now they're 30% off!

Hope you had a lovely weekend!

Pomegranate Shorts

April 20, 2015

Jacket: J.Crew, Top: Banana Republic, Bottoms: Zara, Sandals: ASOS, Bag: old (similar here)
Happy Monday, loves! Who's ready for Summer? I sure am! This past weekend we had fantastic summer-like weather in the city and it was such a tease! I took full advantage and showed my legs some sun. I used to wear skorts as a little girl and never thought they'd come back in style, but 90's fashion is back and I'm not complaining. When I was younger, I loved the femininity of the skirt but appreciated the practicality of the shorts component and love that I found these at Zara in a fun fruity print, literally they are pomegranates! It's flirty and comfortable -- you can't go wrong!

The weather this weekend couldn't have been any better, it was literally perfect so I wore one my new favorites tops is this one from BR. It's effortless, chic and pairs well with so many bottoms. These ASOS strappy sandals are a much cheaper alternative to the Stuart Weitzman 'Nudist' sandal and are my new obsession. I love NYC this time of year! Everyone was out and about -- my favorite season in NYC. After many hours of wandering through the boroughs and as the weather cooled down, I ended the evening in the West Village with my brother eating Sammy's Chinese cuisine -- my wax jacket was perfect for the occasion.

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

One Shirt, Two Ways

April 15, 2015

Vest: Banana Republic White Shirt: Banana Republic Jeans: Gap Sunnies: Urban Outfitters Bracelets & Earrings: Rocksbox Watch: Michael Kors (old) Bag: Michael Kors (old) // Trenchcoat: Banana Republic (old, similar here) Skirt: J. Crew Factory (old) Shoes: Banana Republic (old) Lipstick: Stila 'Aria'

Happy Thursday, everyone! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. I'm always on the hunt for a great white button up; I'd have to say I have about 5-10 of them in various styles because I love them so much. I think that a white shirt adds a certain sophistication and class to a casual outfit and proves to be an excellent foundation for a work appropriate look. I was heading out shopping in Delaware over the weekend and threw on this new white button up from Banana Republic. Over top I wore my favorite vest, I've been wearing it non-stop, and of course a pair of Gap jeans. I loved the look so much, especially the top so I thought how else can I style this?

For a work look I decided to keep it simple and add color and texture through my accessories and make up. I believe a shirt is a blank canvas and you can add personal touches to make the outfit a masterpiece. I swapped the vest for this classic trench, fun leopard print heels and a bold lip. Is anyone else obsessing over liquid lipstick like I am? This Stila one is 'Aria' is my new favorite.

How do you style a white shirt? Let me know in the comments below.

March Beauty Favorites!

April 5, 2015

We are quickly and happily entering into Spring, and every season I like to change up my make up. Yes, I'm make up obsessed but Sephora gets me everytime! I can't be the only one who gets googley eyed the second once they walk in the store! haha.
Last month's beauty favorites are the result of receiving Sephora gift cards for my birthday (yay!) I had many new products that I wanted to try and finally got around to purchasing them.
Starting with the Clinique Superprimer that I chose as a 100 point perk at Sephora, I must say I'm in love with this primer! I was on the hunt for a new primer; I have tried Benefit's POREfessional, Smashbox Photoready Primer and even Hourglass' Primer but I didn't love any of them enough to repurchase until I got this baby, randomly. It's not a silicone primer but is thick enough and applies smoothly. It isn't runny and holds my make up in place all day. I will definitely repurchase this one!
Continuing with the contour craze, I caved and purchased Kat Von D's Shadelight contour palette and was presently surprised. I initially wanted a creme contour palette but I'm not someone who heavily contours so opted for a powder palette and enjoy the selection that this palette provides. There are 3 contour shades and 3 highlight shades. I usually use the first 2 shades for an everyday look but use the darker shades if I'm wearing a more dramatic look.
Top Row: Lucid, Lyric, Levitation / Bottom Row: Sombre, Shadowplay, Subconscious
Next up is a cult favorite and I've heard about it for years and years but never tried and it's the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind concealer. I picked this up at the drugstore and is my new favorite low end concealer. It has a foam dome applicator and provides medium build able coverage.
Another favorite was the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Creamy Beige which is a cream eyeshadow. I've used this on it's own and as a eyeshadow primer for darker brown looks. It's a taupey/mauvey color that I wore most of the month and it can also be found at the drugstore.
The last two favorites of the month were both purchased as a part of my huge birthday Sephora haul. Sephora is truly a dangerous, yet wonderful place. I've talked about the Nars Audacious Lipsticks that came out last fall and I included the shade 'Aubrey' in my holiday gift guide but I picked up yet another nude-brown shade. You can't go wrong with nude lipsticks! I have way too many but yet I continue to get more. This is the shade 'Barbara' and its my "my lips but better" shade. It's always in my purse, I take it with me everywhere!
And, my final favorite of the month was this Agenist Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser which has been sent to me by the skincare angels! I first heard about it from a beauty vlogger, Kathleen Lights, who is super hilarious and absolutely fab and she raved about it. I did some more research and figured I'd give it a try. When you squeeze it out of the tube, it starts off as a gel, then turns to an oil and once you add water it turns into a milk that moistures the skin and takes off all your makeup! I really love the smell and my skin looks great the next morning after using it. This has become my new HG cleanser.
